Most of people love jeans . Finding jeans with just the right leg length straight off the rack is nearly impossible. Most retailers sell jeans that are longer than the average inseam, so people of varying heights have to deal with jeans that bunch at their ankles or catch under their heels. I seldom get jeans that perfectly fit me.If you’ve found jeans that fit everything but your inseam, you can pony up a few dollars and have someone else hem jeans for you — or do it yourself. All you need is basic sewing tools and a bit of time and soon enough, you’ll have perfect fitting jeans and the pride of knowing you did it yourself.
Sewing tools required:
- Scissors (good sewing scissors that can cut denim)
- a straight edge ruler
- marking tool (tailors chalk, or sewing marker – a regular pencil/pen can work too)
- seam ripper
- sewing machine with heavy duty needle
PS: In cutting your jeans into a pair of shorts, make sure don’t get them too long or too short.
